Individually Hand-Crafted
We carefully hand-craft every single one of our candles in small batches.
The process is equal parts science and art. We custom-blend every fragrance experimenting with unexpected mixes until we find the right balance. Then we test to ensure the intensity and power is just right. We’re picky. If we don’t like it, we go back to square one. Simple as that. You only get the best blends after they’ve gone through our rigorous sniff tests.
We only use 100% soy wax and a double cotton wick (for our large format candles) to give you an even and slow burn. Our ceramic vessel is a sleek ivory color that harmoniously fits into your home. We let the fragrance do the talking.
All CarteHaus products are free of phthalates, parabens, mineral oils, paraffin wax, and formaldehyde. None of our products or ingredients are tested on animals.

We are reclaiming the word selfish. We all deserve to put ourselves first, even if it’s just for a moment of the day. Sometimes, it can be as simple as lighting a candle, just for you to enjoy.

Meet The Founder - Megan
I'm a multi-passionate serial entrepreneur with a background in esthetics, nutrition, the arts, and chemistry.
In 2020, I launched my first product-based business, a skincare line. Soon after, I launched my second business, candle making. After growing two businesses side by side, I took the best from both and merged them to create CarteHaus — a fragrance-forward lifestyle brand. My ongoing curiosity to try new things inspired me to experiment with unexpected blends of scents that you can smell in every CarteHaus product.
Originally from Florida, I seek to bring an element of oceanic calmness and bliss to everything I create. Today, you can find me in local makers' markets in my new home, Northern Virginia, where you can experience CarteHaus.
My story is not a traditional entrepreneurship journey, the twists and turns I took along the way have all contributed to what CarteHaus is today.
